<p>The Incucyte® Annexin V NIR Dye is a highly-selective phosphatidylserine (PS) cyanine fluorescent dye. Specially formulated, this reagent is ideally suited for real time measurements of apoptosis in living cultures. <span data-mce-fragment="1">Incucyte®&nbsp;</span>Annexin V NIR Dye&nbsp;<span>has been validated for use with Incucyte® Live-Cell Analysis Systems configured with an Orange/NIR or a Green/Orange/NIR Optical Module</span><span>.</span><span>&nbsp;It is&nbsp;</span><strong>not</strong><span>&nbsp;compatible with Incucyte® Live-Cell Analysis Systems configured with a Green/Red Optical Module (e.g. Cat. No 4647).</span>&nbsp;Addition of the <span data-mce-fragment="1">Incucyte®&nbsp;</span>Annexin V NIR Dye to normal healthy cells is non-perturbing to cell growth and morphology and yields little or no intrinsic fluorescent signal. Once cells become apoptotic, plasma membrane PS asymmetry is lost. PS exposure on the extracellular surface enables binding of the <span data-mce-fragment="1">Incucyte®&nbsp;</span>Annexin V NIR Dye resulting in a bright and photostable fluorescent signal. With the Incucyte® integrated analysis software, fluorescent apoptotic cells can be quantified and background fluorescence minimized.</p>
<p><span data-mce-fragment="1">Incucyte®&nbsp;</span>Annexin V NIR Dye enables real-time evaluation of PS exposure in response to pharmacological agents and/or genetic and environmental factors. Furthermore, the <span data-mce-fragment="1">Incucyte®&nbsp;</span>Annexin V NIR Dye can be combined with the Incucyte® confluence metric for multiplexed measurements of apoptosis and cell proliferation in every assay well.</p>
